Exercise Description and Instruction:

This Weight Training Exercise is a variation of standard Triceps Extension and is done sitting on a bench and working one arm at a time. It can also be performed with while standing. Pretty self explanatory, but see Standing One Arm Triceps Extension if your confused.

To Perform This Exercise:

  1. Sit on a bench with your back straight and your abs drawn in.
  2. Grasp a dumbbell in your hand and place it behind your neck with your elbow bent.
  3. Slowly extend your arm straight up over your head, pressing with your triceps and keeping your elbow in a fixed position.
  4. Slowly return to the starting position.

Tips:

  1. Place your free hand across your chest to help steady yourself during this exercise.
  2. Keep your elbow in a fixed position throughout the exercise.
