Exercise Description and Instruction:

This weight training exercise is a version of the Bicep Curl that uses a stability ball for core muscle development. For those trying to gain muscle and strength, other bicep exercises should be given priority as it is difficult to use maximum weight during stability ball training.

To Perform This Exercise:

  1. Grasp a dumbbell in each hand and on a Stability Ball with your feet placed firmly in front of you and your abs drawn in.
  2. While keeping your elbows at your side and your back straight, curl your arms up to your chest.
  3. Pause for a moment contracting your biceps then slowly lower your arms to the starting position.

Tips:

  1. Keep your elbows in the same position throughout the exercise. They should be drawn in to your torso, shoulder width apart.
  2. Keep your knees slightly bent to help prevent yourself from swinging your torso.
